Who Kilt Marshal Rick Slow? 1890 Ft. Smith Murder Mystery
The victim: Rick Slow, U. S. Marshal for the Hanging Judge Parker’s Court who frequently would disguise himself as an outlaw, male or female, in order to get information from and about other questionable behavior. Dangerous mission however, since some of these characters could be shot on sight by other bandits or even arrested by U.S. Marshals! Found shot and partial dressed in his regular U.S. Marshal outfit but was he getting dress into a disguise, just coming out of a disguise, or did his murderer dress him?
The Investigator:
Rooster Comeagain – Hard hitting, hard spitting, hard hearing U.S. Marshal for the Judge Parker court. He actually arrested Rick Slow once when he was dressed as a wanted bandit. Marshal Slow had to show Rooster his scar to prove to him that he was who he was. Rooster was never famous like Slow but that may all change now that Slow is dead and Rooster is in charge of the investigation.
Turquoise Goose – Mean former Indian scout who brags about not having any enemies…because he kills them all. He served a year in a Federal Pen, just made him meaner, no warrants out on him…yet. Wouldn’t take much for him to kill anybody, for any reason.
Sadlee Treated – Mail order bride now rich widow of Treated Lumber Company king, Ben Treated who mysterious died falling from his buggy and hitting his head on a rock… 6 times. What is she planning on doing with all the power that comes with her newly acquired money?
Miss Kitty Litter – Aggressive ambitious madam of the Miss Laura’s Social Club in Ft. Smith. A legitimate business but hated by some and used by outlaws for hideout and exchanging information. Will walking that thin line with the law bring her down?
Miss Behaven – Former employee of the Miss Laura’s Social Club who now is a saloon girl at the Belle Point Saloon. Quite a step down the ladder and street, why was she fired?
Bella Moon – Queen of the Indian Nations Outlaws, there’s hardly an outlaw, male or female she doesn’t know. She married Silver Moon and joined his gang. Marshall Rick Slow killed Silver Moon trying to arrest him; is Bella the kind of woman that would forgive that?
Blue Moon – Quiet, serious, sometimes runs off to be alone, member of the Moon Gang. Is expected to lead it now that his brother Silver Moon is dead. One never really knows what he has done or what he is planning but wouldn’t revenge be on his mind?
Half Moon – Youngest of the Moon boys and on a good day ain’t too bright. Would he kill a US Marshall to show the gang he is capable of more than just taking care of the horses?
Boots Leger – Whiskey runner and moon shiner in the Nations. Has some dealing in Ft. Smith with some of the businesses but the law is cracking down. What would he do to protect a lucrative illegal business?
Connie Games – Gypsy woman who sells her wares in Indian Territory and around Ft. Smith from her Discount Wagon. No one knows where she came from and what all she is involved with. Would she have a reason to kill a US Marshal?
Bart Ender – Owner of the Belle Point Saloon. A never-will-be that dreams of having a big business like the Miss Laura’s Social Club. However, he lacks the expertise, money and the licenses from the city fathers. Could a lawman be in his way to a profitable business?
